Terms and Conditions
1. Once you have accepted and agreed
for Andrews Gas Services to Work on your Central Heating Equipment
or Gas Installation etc and to pay the charges or cost of the work
as discussed with you or estimated for, we will agree to Work on /
install Central Heating Equipment etc on the terms and conditions
set out in this document.
2. We will carry out all the work
during normal hours, which are 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
There will be an additional charge for any variations or additions
to work which you requested either verbally or written. Occasionally
whilst we are doing the work we find it necessary to do additional
work which could not be reasonably identified on the initial visit,
in such a situation we will explain the reasons for the additional
work and let you know in advance of the cost of this additional work
if possible. Unless the work is a Fixed Rate or Written Estimate;
The customer is liable for the first hours charge plus charges every
quarter of an hour from the time of commencement until the point of
completion, plus materials. Materials supplied by the Company [not
exceeding the trade purchase price of materials plus 25% ].
3. Collecting materials/parts for a
job: We try to minimize collection of materials by carrying everyday
stock items. If we do need to collect materials or parts we charge a
maximum of 45 minutes at the basic hourly rate. You will be informed
if this is not practical or possible.
4. Andrews Gas Services or designated
operative reserves the right to refuse or decline work at our or
their own discretion.
5. The time estimated for the work to
be carried out is our best estimate and we will make every
reasonable effort to complete the work on time. However we cannot be
held responsible for circumstances beyond our control. In such a
situation you will be advised or have alternative dates and times
6. It is your responsibility to
provide access and suitable adjacent parking to the property before
we commence work [All parking charge/tickets are payable by the
customer unless estimated for]. Please ensure adequate gas, water
and electricity supply to the property, plus control valves eg mains
water stopcock etc operate correctly.
7. We may require you to take up all
or some carpets and floor coverings, including tongue and grooved,
parquet, hardwood, rubber or tiled floors and remove boxing, panels
before we start the work. It will be your responsibility to replace
the flooring, boxing, panels when the work is complete. You may
decide to call a specialist contractor to do this work for you.
8. We will take reasonable care to
carry out the work without causing unnecessary damage to your
property, and will make good where necessary, but you accept that
the installation or work may cause damage to the walls, ceilings,
decorations and fittings both internally and externally. It is
anticipated that certain areas may need redecoration by a
professional, this will be your responsibility following completion
of the installation or work. It is also your responsibility to
source matching bricks and tiles etc for outside making good
otherwise we will use the closest match available.
9. Where we need to Work on or connect
new equipment to your existing Central Heating System, Plumbing or
Gas Supply we will not accept liability for the cost of repairing or
replacing parts or your existing system or appliances which
subsequently develops faults i.e.; blockages, power flushing, water
or gas escapes. Nor will we rectify underlying and hereditary faults
on appliances, plumbing, heating, gas and electric systems or
circuits that have not been identified to Andrews Gas Services
before commencement of work and could not readily be found at point
of the initial visit or subsequent visits.
10. We will not accept liability where
your Gas, Heating System and Hot or Cold water does not function
properly due to inadequate supply of water/pressure.
11. If you are a tenant and you need
your landlords or agents permission to carry out the work . Andrews
Gas Services will assume that you had the necessary permission .We
shall not have any liability for any loss or damage and any payments
arising from failure to obtain such permission, the tenant has to be
bound by the terms of the contract and if for any reason the
landlord refuses to pay, the tenant will be liable to pay and
reclaim all cost back from the landlord.
12. The Estimate Total price are valid
for 30 days only.
13. For work over £200.00 a deposit of
up to 50% may be required prior to commencement of work. The balance
is payable on day of job completion. If you agreed-instruct us to do
the work; Should you cancel your order at anytime prior to the
commencement of the work, Andrews Gas Services will retain the cost
of materials purchased from the deposit and return the balance. In
the event of Andrews Gas Services cancels you will receive a FULL
refund of your deposit.
14. We will set out on an invoice the
total cost of the Work or Installation of Central Heating Equipment,
Parts etc as discussed with you or estimated for.
15. The invoice total does not include
the cost of removing hazardous waste such as asbestos, unless this
is included in an estimate. If you have arranged independently for
asbestos to be removed a clean air certificate must be provided
before we will do any further work at your property.
16. The invoice also does not include
the cost of removing of old equipment / parts and rubbish from your
property unless estimated for or has been previously arranged.
17. All invoices to be paid in full
within 14 days of invoice date. Andrews Gas Services reserves the
right to charge interest at 10 % per week on any invoice (or part
thereof) that remains unpaid after 14 days.
18. The ownership of the goods and
services will not pass to the customer until full and final payment
has been made. Any materials can be recoverable by the company in
the event of non-payment. The customer agrees to allow access to
site for this purpose.
19. Payment can be made using Cash or
Cheque; Made Payable to: T. R. ANDREWS
20. The Guarantee shall be for labour
only in respect of faulty workmanship for 12 months from the date of
completion, except servicing/maintenance/repair work which is
guaranteed for 14 days, with the manufacturers warranty in force.
The Guarantee will become null & void if the work/appliance
completed/supplied by ourselves is: (a) Subject to misuse or
(b) Repaired, modified or tampered
with by anyone other than Andrews Gas Services operative. We will
accept no liability for, or guarantee suitability, materials
supplied by the Customer & will accept no liability for any
consequential damage or fault.
21. All work carried out to Current
Gas Safety [Installations and Use] Regulations 1998.You will be
solely liable for any hazardous situation in respect to the GAS SAFE
regulations or any Gas Warning Notice issued. We operate under the
GAS SAFE rules & registration.
